Free Online Consultation

You can have a free consultation with Dr. Shahbazi at the comfort of your computer or phone. During your online consultation with Dr. Shahbazi, you should describe your expectations (i.e. why you want to have the surgery). You might also be asked to provide information such as medical records, test results, and photos for a more accurate pre-op examination.

Trip Planning

All types of travel require preparation and planning. If you are traveling to receive a treatment, preparation can be an even more important key to your journey.

Visa Acquisition

In order to travel to Iran, you need to acquire a visa. You can handle the visa acquisition yourself or let us arrange it all. Citizens of the following countries do not require a visa: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Egypt, Georgia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Oman, Syria, Turkey, Venezuela, China.

Booking Accommodation/Flight

Regardless of the type of procedure you are seeking, staying in Iran for at least 3-5 days is inevitable. If you have acquaintances in the country, you can check if you can stay with them. Otherwise, you should book accommodations in advance for the number of days that are required during the trip. Dr. Shahbazi’s team can recommend hotels that are both convenient and budget-friendly. You should also purchase flight tickets according to the schedule that dr Shahbazi suggests.

Scheduling the Surgery

You should pick the date of surgery that is most convenient for you and schedule flights and hotel rooms accordingly. You should also make sure that your arrival is at least a day prior to the surgery and your departure (flight back home) is on a day that dr Shahbazi suggests you will be fit to fly after the surgery.

Welcome to Tehran

On your first day in Tehran, you can rest or go sightseeing to get to know the country. Make sure to try some Persian food before your surgery.

Pre-Op Appointment

After you arrived in Tehran, you will have your first pre-op consultation appointment with dr Shahbazi. Having had lived in the UK, Dr. Shahbazi can speak fluent English. If you speak a language other than English such as Russian or Arabic, you can request to have an interpreter who speaks your language. During the appointment, dr Shahbazi will examine you and you can discuss how the surgery is going to be performed. Medical imaging, taking blood samples, and other tests and assessments might also be carried out during the pre-op appointment with Dr. Shahbazi.

On the Day of the Surgery

Dr. Shahbazi’s office will let you know what time you should arrive at the hospital on the day of the surgery. Visit the hospital at least 2 hours before the surgery. Do not wear makeup or jewelry and put on comfortable clothing. If your surgery requires a hospital stay, make sure to pack your necessary personal items.

Post-op Appointment

Once you are discharged from the hospital, you will have a few days of rest before visiting dr Shahbazi’s office for a post-surgery appointment. He will evaluate your recovery and remove any casts or stitches if needed. He will also provide you with a complete set of instructions for the rest of your recovery.
